He was an investment analyst specializing in biological and medical technology at F. Eberstadt & Co. in New York and Montgomery Securities in San Francisco from 1979 to 1986. He wrote Wall Street's first investment report on the diabetes industry. He has been an independent venture investment analyst specializing in analysis of the scientific, technical, commercial and market opportunity for ventures in biological and medical technology.
